PROFILE

Andy McKay has been Professor of Economics at the University of Bath since September 2003, having previously worked at the University of Nottingham, with specialist interests in development economics. He is also a part time research fellow at the Overseas Development Institute (ODI), London (www.odi.org.uk); has been a key researcher in the Chronic Poverty Research Centre since its inception (www.chronicpoverty.org); and is a participant in the ESRC Wellbeing in Development (WeD) Group in Bath (http://www.welldev.org.uk/ ). He has extensive experience of successful PhD supervision at Nottingham and now at Bath, with a specific interest in supervising applied topics based on household survey data sets. In addition to academic research he has many years experience of undertaking advisory work for DFID and different African governments, among others.
