The RepRap Project

Progress and Plans

The intention of the Bath RepRap project is to build a self-copying rapid prototyping machine and to release its entire design and all its associated software and documentation free on the Web under the GNU General Public Licence, so that others may build one too.

The RepRap Project at Bath University is being conducted in three stages:
  1. Incorporate electrical conductors into conventional rapid prototyping in a low-cost way;
  2. Design and build Cartesian robot axes using rapid prototyping for the self-copying rapid prototyping machine; and
  3. Design and build the material deposition system for the machine.
Stage One is complete, and we have started work on Stage Two.  All the documentation and designs that we have created so far are available from the Reports and Downloads links on the left.

You may care to check out the Technical ideas and Blog page for evolving technical information on the project.
