In order to comply with the changing regulations we had to fit disc brakes to the front wheels. This was difficult to achieve without causing unwanted friction when the brakes were supposed to be off! | |
2008 event | |
In order to cope with my rapid growth in height, it was necessary to build a new vehicle for me to drive in. This took 2 years to construct following the Scottish Eco-marathon event of 2006. | The new vehicle is long and slim and made from steel square tubing. The driving position is much lower and more stable at high speed. The original engine is maintained but with different gearing. |
2006 events | |
This is during a run where we do 6 miles at the Grampian Transport Museum track. After the run the petrol fuel is measured to see how many miles per gallon we achieve. Our vehicle managed to do 468 miles per gallon. |

This car is made out of steel tubing and old bike parts. This is me trying it for size. |
The engine was given by my grandad called Pa. It came froma lawn mower and is 80cc. The glass sphere on the right is the fuel tank, and we had to have a fire extinguisher in case of emergencies. |
