EU Framework 6 Research
General
The Call for proposals appeared on the 17 December 2002, and on the
Luxembourg Web site
at the same time.
It is still not clear what funding model (the curious can see
here, page 7)
the University will adopt for FP6: when the Director of Finance has
taken that decision, this page will be updated. As of 31/1/2003, the
"Financial Guidelines" had not yet appeared.
Training
The University will be running a training day, led by
Prof. Davenport, to explain European Funding. This was planned for 20
January, but two key documents, the Model Contract and the Finanical
Guidelines, are still missing. This will probably now be in mid February.
Coordinators
The burden, and University commitment, of trying
to coordinate these projects,
particularly of the size being mentioned in FP6, is such that the
University Research Committee will
pre-vet such applications. Any-one thinking of co-ordinating, or being
a significant sub-coordinator,
of a project under this first call must have written to the University Grants
and Contracts Support Unit
(Framework 6 Cooordination) by Friday 24 January 2003. There is a one-page proforma.
Decisions were notified on
30 January 2003. Note earlier date.
Examples
A late Framework 5 successful proposal is available in PDF:
Part 2 and
Part 3.
