Professor James Davenport is conducting reserach into university-level introductory programming.  Such surveys have been undertaken in Australia and New Zealand over the past number of years: see <a href="http://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=2667507">this paper</a>, and more recently in the UK. These results are compared in <a href="http://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=3159547">this SIGCSE paper</a>.

The question then arises "What is the global pattern". <a href="https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/GlobalProgSurvey">This survey</a> is designed to address that question. We intend to start analysing the data in June 2018, so completion by the end of May 2018 would be much appreciated.
